Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Kigali city tour.
After your delicious breakfast or on arrival at the airport, our professional driver-guide will pick you up and embark on a Kigali city tour. During this tour of the city, you will have an opportunity to visit the Genocide Memorial Hall. This is where the remains of some of the people who perished in the 1994 Rwanda genocide between the Hutus and Tutsis are. You will also visit the local markets in the city and interact with the locals.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
In the morning after you have had your delightful breakfast, you will embark on the journey to Volcanoes National Park. During the journey to the park, you will have an experience and orientation on why Rwanda is indeed a land of a thousand hills. You will be amazed by the sheer size of the park and also its beautiful flora and fauna, especially the endangered gorilla species and monkeys.
Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and Ibyi’wacu cultural tour
Upon arrival at Volcanoes National Park in the morning, you will be briefed on the activity of Golden Monkey trekking and the expected code of conduct by your professional guide at the offices of Volcanoes National Park. Golden monkeys are rare and endangered species of monkeys only formed in Volcanoes National Park, Mgahinga National Park in Uganda, and Virunga National Park in DRC. Trekking of these monkeys is an amazing activity usually done in the mornings. After finding the monkeys you are given one hour in their presence.
After trekking the golden monkeys, you will have a tour of the Ibyi’wacu cultural village. On this tour will get a cultural experience of the traditional way of life of the locals, tales of the rich history of Rwanda by the elders.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will travel by road to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda after your delicious breakfast. You will experience amazing landscapes in the comfort of your vehicle while on your journey. This journey will be a memorable one since you will experience the way of life of both the locals as you travel from Rwanda to Uganda.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park takes place in the morning hours after a briefing about the code of conduct around these endangered species at the park headquarters in Bwindi. After encountering the gorillas, each gorilla family is tracked by 8 people for one hour. This time alone with these gorillas is enough to leave you with an everlasting memory.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After your breakfast, you will start your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the journey to the park, you will make a brief stopover at the coffee plantations for a coffee tour. You will experience the different processes that the raw coffee undergoes until it is served as a beverage.
Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
You will have a game drive in the morning hours in Queen Elizabeth National Park after your breakfast. On this game drive you will have an exhilarating adventure with the wildlife on the savannah. Be sure to view different unique bird species as well as large herds of buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and antelopes to mention but a few as they graze. If you are lucky, you experience the unique tree-climbing lions of Ishasha.
In the afternoon immediately after your delicious lunch, you will have a boat cruise at the Kazinga channel. On this epic adventure, you will see large schools of hippos in the water as well as some crocodiles busking in the afternoon hot sunshine.
Day 8: Transfer to Kibale National Park and Crater Lake tours
Early morning after your breakfast, you will begin your journey to Kibale National Park. Along the way, you will pass through crate lakes like Lake Nyabikere which is shaped like a map of Africa, Lake Nyinambuga, Lake Nkuruba, and others. You will also experience the Amabere Ga’nyinamwiru which is a rock that was formed as a result of the creation of stalagmites and stalactites.
Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi wetland walk
After your breakfast, you will head to the offices at Kibale National Park for a briefing on the way of tracking the chimpanzees and the expected code of conduct. Thereafter you will commence on the trails in Kibale to track the chimpanzees with the help of your guide. After coming in close contact with one of the chimpanzee families, you will have only an hour with these magnificent creatures.
In the afternoon immediately after your delightful meal, you will tour the Bigodi wetland and have an exciting experience of seeing some of the rarest bird species. You will get a chance to interact with the locals and experience their way of life.
Day 10: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
The following morning after your breakfast, you will commence on the journey to Uganda’s largest national park Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Morning game drive, afternoon boat cruise, and hiking to the top of the falls
You will have a game drive in the park immediately after your breakfast. You will experience the wildlife on the savannah grass and woodland. You will see animals like elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, leopards, giraffes, warthogs, and hyenas among others.
In the afternoon you will have a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the floor of the Murchison Falls. After you will hike to the top of the falls and have an exhilarating experience of the thunderous roar and rainbow formation at the world’s strongest waterfall the Murchison Falls.
Day 12: Transfer to Kampala
The following morning after your breakfast, you will start your journey to Kampala. During this journey, you will have beautiful views of the landscape. You will also see the different economic activities of the locals. Down the road from Murchison Falls National Park, you will pass via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and have an experience with the endangered white rhinos. Along the way, you will also see the falls at Karuma. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Fly to Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya
After breakfast at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe, you will board a flight to Masai Mara National Reserve. After arriving at Masai Mara, your driver guide will be waiting for you to pick you up and drive you to your lodge. Depending on time, you may take on the amazing Masai Cultural tours. Get an insight into the indigenous cultures of Africa. Return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.
Day 14: Full-day game drives in Masai Mara National Reserve
In the morning, after your breakfast, you will have a full-day game drive. During the game drive, you will have epic scenes of the wildlife and the beautiful landscape as well as the various bird species in the reserve. The main event of the day will be the wildebeest migration. This is the largest migration of wildebeest in the world. Seeing these magnificent animals cross the great Mara River as they fight the river current and the dangerous crocodiles in the river will leave you with everlasting memories.
An epic bush lunch or sundowner at a water source can be organized by your lodge as you may advise. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 15: Transfer to Nairobi and Departure
After a relaxed breakfast, you will embark on the journey to Nairobi for your departure. The driver will drop you at either a hotel of your choosing in Nairobi or Jommo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight. This marks the end of your 15 days Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya Safari.
