3 days gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park

Overview.

This 3-day gorilla tour will allow visitors to explore Volcanoes National Park extensively. Travelers on this trip will get immersed in the raw power and beauty of the diverse landscapes in the Virunga conservation area. Travelers have opportunity to meet the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

After the travelers have met the mountain gorillas and observed them thoroughly, visits will be conducted to the Iby’iwacu Cultural village for yet another exciting adventure with the indigenous Banyarwanda. The guests will learn more about the traditions and cultures of the Rwandan citizens.

A city tour will be conducted in Kigali to visit the most exciting tourist sites therein. The visits to the Kigali Convention Center and Kimironko market will provide a deeper understanding of the fastest growing city in Africa.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1.  Kigali city tour. Kigali to Volcanoes National Park.

Have breakfast at the hotel in the wee hours of the morning. A professional tourist guide will pick you up from the hotel to embark on a city tour. You will conduct visits to Kimironko market where you will have, an exploration of the local goods, vegetables and you will also buy souvenirs.

You will also visit the Kigali convention centre and Inema Art gallery to get insights into the cultures and tradition of the country and marvel at the beautiful work of the gifted hands of artists in the country. Transfer back to the hotel at high noon to get served a delicious lunch.

After lunch, you will then undertake the transfer to Volcanoes National Park, a journey that will take you about an hour and 47 minutes covering the distance of 78.1 kilometers.

Continue to the lodging facility and relaxing your premises. A delicious dinner will be served to you at sunset and you will be accommodated overnight.

Day 2. Gorilla trekking, Afternoon cultural tour.

After breakfast at the lodge, head out to embark on the drive to the headquarters of the park where you’ll meet a team of Rangers that will guide you about how to behave in the midst of the mountain gorillas in their habitat.

After the simple meeting you will then be accompanied to the forests to embark on the gorilla trekking adventure. The trekking activity will go on for about 5 to 6 hours.  Enjoy the moments with the gorillas in the jungle and at around high noon transfer back to the hotel to get served a delicious lunch.

After lunch, you will undertake the visit to Iby’iwacu cultural centre.  At the cultural village, you’ll get immersed into the Rwandan culture.  Visitors will be entertained by the local people and get deep insights into the traditions of Rwanda especially through the storytelling activities.

All this will help you learn more about the way of life of the typical Rwandan society. Transfer back to the lodge at sunset to have dinner and rest for the night.

Day 3. Transfer back to Kigali.

Arise at sun up. Have breakfast at the lodging facility and undertake a sunrise nature walk in the park. The nature walk will help you appreciate the endowments of the park and have views of the Virunga volcanoes.

Transfer back to the lodge in the mid morning to undertake the transfer back to Kigali. The journey will take you about one hour and 47 minutes for the 78.1 kilometre distance.  Continue to the airport to catch the flights back home which will be the end of the exciting trip.
