The tree-climbing lions of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda are a unique attraction and one of the park’s highlights. Unlike most lions, which prefer to stay on the ground, these lions have developed the unusual behavior of climbing and resting in trees. This behavior is believed to provide them with a vantage point to spot prey and avoid the heat of the savanna during the day.
The most famous area for tree-climbing lions in the park is the Ishasha sector, where visitors can sometimes observe these magnificent animals lounging on branches. Watching these lions in their habitat offers a distinctive wildlife experience and an excellent opportunity for photography.
