Chimpanzee habituation starts early in the morning at any sector either kanyanchu or buraiga with briefing, rules and expectations .
After briefing by your guide, you will join a team of researchers, and start trekking in search of the chimpanzee family.
Chimpanzee habituation gives you an opportunity to be close with the chimpanzee, take close nice pictures of them and know more about their group family.
Chimpanzee habituation takes roughly a whole day and while trekking you will be able to encounter. Different bird species such as crowned eagle, blue turaco, African grey parrot, bee-eaters, waders and waterfowl and many more.
Once the chimpanzees are found you will spend four hours with them knowing their social livings, how they care for each other, how they do their hunting.

A chimpanzee habituation permit is a document issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority authorized by a visitor to allow him or her do chimpanzee habituation.
Chimpanzee habituation costs for Foreign Non-Residents per person$300, Foreign Residents per person $250 and East Africans Ugx 250000.
How To Book A Chimpanzee Habituation Permit ?

Chimpanzee habituation can be done in all seasons throughout the year but the ideal season is low/ rainy season. Because during this season’s chimpanzee will have plenty of food in the forest and less congestion in the park, than the dry season were chimpanzee have to move deeper in the forest in search for food for their family.
How To Get To Kibale National Park?
By Road
There are two routes one is Kampala via mubende then fort portal to Kibale national park which takes 6 to 7 hours’ drive in with the 4 WD Land Cruiser.
The second route can be accessed from Kampala via masaka, Mbarara, fort portal, then to Kibale national park which will take 7 to 8 hours in safari vehicle.
By air
Kibale national park can be reached by air. clients should book a domestic flight with bar aviation or aero link from Entebbe international airport to fort portal.
